Inside: A+D Museum Installation
Installation composed of two vintage exercise bikes arranged next to each other so that when they are pedaled they move a mechanism that draws on the wall in front of them. One of the bicycle operators controls the up/down movement of the pens and the red/blue colors while the other operator controls the left/right movement and the orange/teal pens. The operators quickly learn that using the piece is about communicating with the other operator as much as it is about coordinating your own movement.

The show came to an end and we disassembled the machine to leave just the drawing on the wall:

Sorry about the crappy picture.

The machine held its own for a little while but there were so many people jamming on it that it couldn't hold up.

Kevin had to take a wheel off to do some emergency welding after some kid went Lance Armstrong on one of the bikes. Then he and John and Hardy got it up and running again until this happened:

At which point they were free to just hang out and not worry about anything. Every gallery opening needs a little drama to make it fun!

With the contraption fully functional we've started to make some swag for the museum to sell. We're doing a set of custom bags that are drawn on with the contraption.
Blank bags on the wall:

Custom bags. Each one is unique based on who is pedaling with who and how they are cooperating:
